1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you" or "Merchant") and Cury Apps ("we", "us") regarding your use of the Cury SEO Shopify app (the "App") and the related pages at curyapps.com (the "Site").

By installing, accessing or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not install the App.

Heads up. These Terms are a good-faith plain-English document written by the App's developer. They are not legal advice and have not been reviewed by an attorney in your jurisdiction. If you operate under specific legal requirements, please review them with your counsel before installing.

2. What the service is

Cury SEO is a Shopify embedded app that:

  • Reads the on-page SEO fields of your products (meta title, meta description, image alt text, description length, URL handle) and reports which fields are missing, too short or out of recommended range.
  • Surfaces a dashboard summarising your catalog, groups issues by type, and lists your lowest-scoring products.
  • Generates alt-text suggestions for product images that don't have one, derived from the product title and the variant name, and applies them to your Shopify catalog when you trigger the bulk-fix or single-product fix action.
  • Exports the latest audit as a CSV file.

The App is provided as software-as-a-service, embedded inside the Shopify Admin via Shopify's App Bridge.

3. License to use the app

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Cury Apps grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App for your own Shopify store(s) for the duration of the installation.

You may not (a) reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the App, (b) resell, rent or sublicense the App, (c) use the App to violate Shopify's terms or any applicable law, or (d) use the App to process content you do not have the right to modify.

4. Account & requirements

To use the App you need a Shopify store in good standing. Authentication is handled entirely by Shopify via OAuth — the App does not have its own login. You are responsible for the security of your Shopify account credentials.

The App is offered globally, in English. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the App complies with the laws applicable to your business (including, where applicable, data-protection, consumer-protection and accessibility rules).

5. Your responsibilities

When you use Cury SEO, you agree to:

  • Review the alt-text suggestions before applying them at scale, especially if your catalog includes regulated, sensitive or copyrighted imagery.
  • Keep a backup or revision history of fields that matter to you, where Shopify allows. The App does not maintain a separate undo history of your store's data.
  • Not use the App to populate fields with content that is misleading, infringing, defamatory, discriminatory or otherwise unlawful.
  • Comply with Shopify's terms and the Shopify API rate limits — the App is built to respect them, but cooperative use of background jobs may still be subject to those limits.

6. Changes the app makes to your store

When you click "Fix alt texts" or "Generate missing alt texts", the App writes alt-text values to your product images via the Shopify Admin GraphQL API (productUpdateMedia). It does not modify any other product field. It does not delete data.

By triggering a bulk or single-product fix, you authorise the App to perform those specific writes on your behalf. Once a bulk fix has run, undoing it is not provided by the App itself; you can edit alt text manually in your Shopify Admin or clear it again with your own tools.

7. SEO and ranking disclaimers

This section is important. By using the App you acknowledge that:

  • The App's "completeness score" is an internal checklist that measures how many of five technical on-page SEO fields are populated on each product. It is not a Google ranking, a traffic estimate, or any official SEO score.
  • Completing the fields the App checks does not guarantee any improvement in search engine rankings, organic traffic, click-through rate, conversion rate or sales. Search ranking depends on many factors outside the scope of this App, including content quality, domain authority, backlinks, site performance, and the search engine's evolving algorithms.
  • The App makes no warranty that the alt-text suggestions it generates are SEO-optimal, fully descriptive of the image content, or compliant with accessibility requirements in your jurisdiction. The generation logic is deterministic and based on product titles, not on the image itself.
  • The five checks the App runs are not an exhaustive SEO audit. The App does not analyze pages, collections, blog posts, HTML structure, Core Web Vitals, schema.org markup, Open Graph tags, sitemaps, robots files or any external SEO signals.

If you require SEO outcomes guaranteed by contract, you should engage an SEO professional. The App is a tool to help you maintain field hygiene at scale, not a guarantee of search performance.

8. Availability & "as is"

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, freedom from bugs, or a specific level of performance. The App, the Site, the underlying APIs, and our hosting provider may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, incidents or causes outside our control.

We may modify, suspend or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time, with or without notice. If we permanently discontinue the App, we will make reasonable efforts to notify affected merchants in advance.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Cury Apps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption or loss of goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the App.
  • Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the App shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD 100). The current release of the App is offered without charge, so the cap typically resolves to USD 100.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct in jurisdictions where such limitation is not permitted).

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Cury Apps and its operator from any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to (a) your misuse of the App, (b) content you publish, modify or distribute using the App, or (c) your violation of these Terms or of any applicable law.

11. Termination

You may terminate this agreement at any time by uninstalling the App from your Shopify Admin (Settings → Apps and sales channels). On uninstall, Shopify revokes the App's access and we delete your store data as described in §10 of the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you breach these Terms, abuse the service in a way that affects other merchants or the platform, or if Shopify requires us to do so.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The Effective date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Material changes — for example, anything that materially increases your obligations or restricts your rights — will be communicated through the App or via email to the shop's primary contact before they take effect. Your continued use of the App after the Effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's place of business (Colombia), without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. The parties shall first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting support@curyapps.com. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be brought before the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence grant you the right to sue elsewhere.

Nothing in this section limits Shopify's own dispute-resolution provisions that apply to apps distributed through the Shopify App Store.
